Interview between Reverends Doctor John Kleinig and Pastor Heath Pukallus, on the Life of Doctor Hermann Sasse.
Greetings in Christ While I was in Adelaide for the 2024 LCANZ synod, and just two days before the LCANZ voted to ordain women and men into the public ministry, I recorded the linked video with Dr John Kleinig on the life of theologian Dr Hermann Sasse. Arguably Dr Sasse is the father of confessional theology from the 20th century, and his legacy lived on through the teaching of Dr John Kleinig, one of his students. I and many other students were privileged to sit at the feet of Dr John at Luther Seminary in Jeffcott Street, Adelaide, and internationally. I believe it is not out of place here to thank God for his teaching, and are equally thankful for the impression Sasse made on John as a confessional teacher of Jesus Christ, the word of God, and the Christian faith. Hermann Sasse is known throughout Australia, the USA, and Europe, most have his books on their shelves, this interview with Dr Kleinig adds personal depth to a confessional man we know as a faithful theologian who personally battled in the trenches of WW1, against the regime of Hitler, and against the even greater horrors of liberal theology that are wreaking havoc in Christendom today.
